The Amazons are a blistering, melodic rock quartet from Reading. Fusing the sheer force of Nineties punk and grunge (Nirvana and Rage Against The Machine) with the melodic sensibilities of more contemporary acts like Bombay Bicycle Club and Tame Impala, The Amazons are beauty and aggression wrapped together harmony.



To see the band live is to feel the full force of what The Amazons represent. The band is fronted by Matt Thompson; a towering powerhouse with a vocal range that typifies the band’s musical blend. Joe Emmet is a thunderous metronome behind the drums, while Elliot Briggs’ driving bass lines compliment Emmet’s raw power and sudden intricacies. Chris Alderton creates the melodic atmosphere of the band whilst unleashing raucous lead guitar lines that give the Amazons’ tracks such memorable hooks.



The Amazons head into 2015 with impressive momentum. Having released debut track ‘Something In The Water’ on SoundCloud at the end of last year, the band gained a substantial following. The psychedelic instrumentation, melodic hooks and explosive crescendo of this demo, which lasts a little over five minutes, is all listeners have needed to perpetuate the excitement surrounding The Amazons.



Fans of the track will have their swiftly acquired appetites sated as further content is released on the band’s SoundCloud early this year. The band will then be heading across the country reeling in audiences with their unique sound and explosive live set.
