About this Event

Following the announcement of their headline show at Shepherd’s Bush Empire on 13th November, The Coronas are thrilled to confirm an 11-date UK tour this November. Shepherd’s Bush Empire is the band’s largest headline UK show to date.

The Coronas hurtled into 2015 with a sold out show at the 14,000 capacity Dublin 3 Arena. It was a homecoming show of sorts since the band moved to London little over a year ago. With 3 double platinum albums on their own indie label in Ireland under their belts, the band was quickly snapped up by Island Records and signed a publishing deal with Big Life.

Last October The Coronas – whose support tours include Sir Paul McCartney, The Script, Justin Timberlake and Pink - played 3 sold-out headline shows in the UK in London, Glasgow and Manchester and then March saw them embark on a full UK headline tour the culminated in a sold-out show at London’s Koko. This summer they have played Dot to Dot and T in the Park and will be playing V Festival in August.

The Coronas journey began when childhood best friends Danny (the son of Irish folk legend Mary Black) and bassist Graham Knox formed a band at school with Conor. They played their first gig aged 15. By the time they reached uni, they had recruited Dave and had called themselves The Coronas. The last eight years has seen them establish themselves as one of Ireland’s best-loved bands and sell out Ireland’s biggest venues.

“The last eight years have been a blast,” says Knoxy. “We look back and can’t believe what we’ve achieved. The highlights? Too many to mention. But for me, meeting McCartney when we supported him. He asked who was the bassist. I said me. He said, ‘Okay, here’s my advice. Don’t break up.”

“And we haven’t,” laughs Danny. “We can’t. Paul McCartney said so.”
