Join us for a sensational summer afternoon on Sunday 9th of July at Chelmsford City Racecourse, for the sixth running of the Queen Charlotte Fillies’ Stakes. This Listed flat horse race, is the highest-graded race at Chelmsford City Racecourse and is worth an astounding £100,000.  

This incredible afternoon of racing can be enjoyed from one of our many luxurious hospitality spaces. We have two restaurants; The Club Restaurant & Lounge, which offers a fine-dining experience and exceptional views of the finishing line; and the Fairwood Brasserie where guests look right onto the home straight whilst dining from a seasonal four course buffet. 

There will also be hospitality packages available in The Queen Charlotte Marquee and The Parade Ring Marquee.  
 
Guests of the Queen Charlotte Marquee will avail a four-course served summer menu with a glass of Champagne. The Queen Charlotte Marquee also has an idyllic private terrace where guests will be able to enjoy the thrill of the race’s trackside.  It is arguably the best place to experience the racing action.  

In the Parade Ring Marquee guests will be able to enjoy a traditional Afternoon Tea with sandwiches and scones, and a glass of English sparkling wine. From the private terrace guests will be able to see the horses presented for racing, before they take to the track.  

ABOUT THE QUEEN CHARLOTTE STAKES  

The Queen Charlotte Stakes was created as a new Listed race in 2018 and required royal approval for the title, which was given by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. The race carries the name of Queen Charlotte, the consort of George III. The title commemorates the Queen Charlotte Stakes, a race run at Chelmsford Racecourse in the 18th and 19th centuries.  

Past winners of the Queen Charlotte Filles’ Stakes have included Soft Whisper, who has gone on to win at Meydan; Highfield Princess who has gone on to win at Curragh and York; and Billesdon Brook who went on to win at Goodwood.
