About this Event

After a break of over 3 years, Yorkshire rockers Terrorvision are back!

Following their appearances as special guests to Thunder, the band will embark on their own headline tour around the UK. The Regular Urban Survivors Tour will coincide with the 20th anniversary of the platinum selling album. Fans joining the band on the November dates will be able to hear the pivotal album in full as well as other Rock n Roll hits from the band’s catalogue.

Bassist Leigh Marklew said:

“Regular Urban Survivors is an album that needs to be celebrated! 20 years old this year, it’s very important to us as it’s the album that gave us our first Top-10 single and really confirmed our position as the ‘go-to’ Brit-Rock band of the 90s, if killer pop hooks, eccentric lyrics and crazy live shows were your cup of tequila.”

Terrorvision were born in 1988 out of the remnants of a glam rock mess called “Spoilt Brats”. The band released their first album Formaldehyde in 1992. Although showing their obvious Heavy Metal influences, there was a sense of humour and pop leaning which could not be hidden, particularly in their breakthrough single ‘My House’.

It was those pop quirks which crafted their breakthrough second album How to Make Friends and Influence People. A collection of exuberant pop-metal classics, the album featured the single ‘Oblivion’ that showed off TV’s trademark mix of disenfranchised lyrics coupled with enormously catchy tunes, in this case with added “Doo-Wops”, givin the band a genuine crossover hit. The singles all charted well, propelling the decidedly unfashionable Terrorvision firmly into the mainstream.

Released in 1996, Regular Urban Survivors notched up four more Top-30 singles for the band, including ‘Perseverance’, which debuted at number 5 on the UK charts; consequently, the album swiftly went Gold. While celebrating their success in Madrid, tequila-fuelled and on another European jaunt, frontman Tony smashed both his ankles trying to scale the walls of the Hard Rock café to rearrange its famous logo. Gigs were curtailed only briefly but ideas for new songs were hatched and soon the band was back out on the road, taking on Glastonbury and Reading in 1997.

Following two more albums Shaving Peaches and Good To Go, and a farewell tour in 2001 Terrorvision took a break, only playing a handful of shows in 9 years until in 2010 the band got itchy song writing fingers and a decision was made to start working on new material once again, writing and recording the first new album in ten years: Super Delux.

The band toured the album for 18 months, culminating in a rampant return to Donington in 2012 for Download festival. Although, after a momentous gig at Manchester Ritz in October 2012, the band went their separate ways once again and it looked increasingly likely that we would never see Terrorvision on stage again.

Cut to summer 2015, three years since the band played together, three years since they were in a room together, and an unlikely meeting at a charity gig sowed the seeds for a Terrorvision reunion in 2016. Thank the good Lord of Rock n Roll for that!
