About this Event

CHELMSFORD CITY RACECOURSE TO SUPPORT ‘MONTH OF COMMUNITY’
IN JUNE BY INVITING LOCAL VOLUNTEERS AND UNPAID CARERS FOR FREE
RACEDAY.

Chelmsford City Racecourse is delighted to be supporting the Eden Project
Communities and their ‘Month of Community’ scheme throughout June. An
annual event that celebrates everything that makes our communities great.
Chelmsford City racecourse will be hosting a Volunteers and Unpaid Carers
Raceday on Thursday 8th June 2023.

Championing British racing and it’s community engagement, here at Chelmsford
City Racecourse we pride ourselves in taking an active role within our
communities. To signify Racing Together’s ‘Community Day’, we are inviting
local unpaid carers to apply for 2 free tickets to thank them for their help and
enjoy an evening of racing. Bring a friend or relative to recharge away from their
dependants.

Jo Flaherty, Head of Charity & Community at Chelmsford City Racecourse has
said “There are so many wonderful people who selflessly give up their time to
care for someone in need, be it one of their family members or out in the
community. Here at Chelmsford City Racecourse it is our objective to support
local charities and a great cause such as this.

We take enormous pride in offering some well-deserved respite to those unsung
heroes, and look forward to welcoming them to an exciting evening of racing
without their dependents”.

We are also working with local charities to invite a select number of their
volunteers to thank them for their help. Without the many dedicated,
enthusiastic and passionate volunteers, charities would not be able to
continue the valuable work they do within the community and wider
areas.
