Having seen her recent, third album ‘My Wild West’ enter the UK top 20, Lissie is set to release the third single from the album, the fantastic ‘Wild West’. Accompanied by a charming new video, the single will be released on 18th July through UK label Cooking Vinyl. The single is currently enjoying heavy rotation at Radio 2, where it is currently C – listed.



The inspiration behind the single’s fantastic accompanying video came from director Talain Rayne, who had the idea to have his friend’s kids star in and shoot a music video. The seed now planted, Talain turned up at the family’s house one day, armed with his camera and recording equipment. The audio that you hear at the beginning of the video is their true reactions. The kids were shown how to use and record with the camera and left to their own devices for a week, with what you see in ‘Wild West’ the result of their first foray into the world of film.



Debuting in 2010 with the gold selling ‘Catching A Tiger’ and then following up with another Top 20 long player, 2013’s ‘Back To Forever’, Lissie spent the three years following ‘Back To Forever’ reassessing her heart’s desire. Last year she decided to make a change and left Ojai, California, moving back to her native Midwest, 2000 miles away on a farm in Iowa. With no strict schedule forced upon her Lissie was able to take her time over the record and let things happen naturally.

“In writing ‘Wild West’ I had no idea at the time I was going to leave California and move back to the Midwest. I feel like the creation was predictive of the changes that were coming. The moment I decided not to make an album was when I really started to make the album.”



2016 has already seen Lissie play a sold out European and US tour, do multiple performances at SXSW, including a special appearance for the Luck Reunion at legendary Country star Willie Nelson’s ranch, as well as numerous festival dates. She will also be heading out to tour the UK in from November through to December, full dates below. Lissie releases ‘Wild West’ the third single from her current album and its accompanying video on July 18th. Featuring a tremendously powerful chorus, ‘Wild West’ is Lissie at her catchy best.
