After our groovy & busy residents’ night, Patchwork’s first booking of MT16 is here and it’s another Oxford debut! We’ve invited Lurka — one of the UK scene’s latest leading innovators — to grace The Cellar’s humble booth. Combat the doom and gloom of mid-term blues by getting to know what homegrown attitude sounds like.



With several releases on Blackbox and collaborations with Commodo and Gantz between 2011 and 2014, Lurka has a history as a pioneering dubstep producer. Despite having changed tack in recent years, the music he puts out still contains echoes of his background. In the last 12 months, Lurka’s releases on Hotline, his own Fringe White, and Batu’s Timedance feature bass-heavy, no-nonsense dancefloor weight while also doffing a cap to diverse styles such as electro, EBM, techno and UK garage.



In his DJ sets Lurka delivers the goods with a take-no-prisoners approach that will feel at home in Oxford’s best-loved basement, but he’s a man of variation, so who knows what to expect? Drop those essays and prepare for a late night that you’ll remember.
