TONY MATTHEWS

RONI O’BRIEN

Last year, Banks brought Soul and Funk back to Maidstone on an epic scale, bringing Robbie Vincent out of 10 year retirement for a very special one off gig on our terrace.

Following the outstanding success of having such a legend of Radio in our hometown, we went on to welcome the almighty Greg Edwards to our second Soul night at Christmas, proving his presence is just as essential at any night of Soul, Funk and Disco.

It seems that you guys could not get enough, so we simply had to bring him back! Banks are proud to be inviting Greg back to the terrace, along with some very special guests!

GREG EDWARDS

There are only a number of Radio DJ's in the world that can be described as having set the standard for records that grace our airwaves. Greg Edwards is undoubtedly one of the finest!

Hailed as one of the world’s 40 ESSENTIAL DJ's, Greg Edwards landed on British shores in the late 1960's direct from New York and became accredited with launching the careers of Soul and Funk legends, The o’Jays, and The Three Degrees

If you were a fan of Soul during the 70's and 80's, you will have undoubtedly tuned in to his Soul Spectrum show on London's Capital Radio. Greg kept his listeners on form with the latest sounds from the Soul underground, and inspired many of today's top Radio DJ's to stay on top of their game.

Greg will be taking over our terrace at Banks, for this very unique chance to hear a master in action!

TONY MATTHEWS

Hailing from Kent himself, Tony has been instrumental is shaping the legendary Caister Soul Weekender. He describes himself as ‘an old fashioned soulboy’ so who else could we bring to our Soul night!

Tony began his passion for Soul back in the 70’s when the unique sound of Soul and Funk first exploded, as founder of the Gravesend Groover Soul Tribe. From here he became Pete Tong’s roadie and travelled to play at some of the biggest Soul nights in the UK.

RONI O’BRIEN

A name that any fan of Soul will know. Roni has been a presenter on Soul Radio for the past 10 years, as well as being a major part of the Caister Soul Weekender since 2006.

Roni run’s regular gigs in the Essex and Kent area, including the Kent Soul Sessions, Soul Reunited and the Margate Soul Weekend. She has worked with such legends as D-Train, Womack and Womack, Alexander O'Neal and Kenny Thomas.

There’s not a lot that Roni doesn’t know about Soul, so it is with immense pleasure that we welcome Roni to play at Banks.

The event will take place on our covered terrace area, with fully installed sound and light system, perfectly suited to the smooth sound of Classic Soul, Funk and Disco.

Tickets are priced at just £10 and are available from the following link
