Double Grammy Award Winner 2002 and 2009, Albert Lee is undoubtedly one of the finest guitarists the world has ever seen. Albert is also an accomplished piano player and has a fine singing voice. He has a soulful voice but can equally 'tear it up' rock 'n roll style.
Albert excited audiences for many years as a member of Chris Farlowe’s Thunderbirds, Country Fever, Head Hands and Feet, Eric Clapton’s Band, Emmylou Harris’s Hotband, and The Crickets. Albert appeared with the Everly Brothers at their Reunion concert in 1983 touring with them extensively since. He has been a popular member of Bill Wyman’s Rhythm Kings, thrilling audiences with his playing and singing. He featured prominently on the band's CDs and video. From 1987 to 2015 toured extensively with Hogan’s Heroes making several CDs and videos along the way.
Co-writer of Country Boy and writer of many other great songs, Always in great demand by other artistes, he has played on countless sessions worldwide. He has appeared and recorded with many of the finest artistes in the music industry, including Glen Campbell, Dave Edmunds, Dolly Parton, Bobby Bare, Joan Armatrading, Ricky Scaggs, Joe Cocker, Willie Nelson, Linda Ronstadt, Rodney Crowell, Vince Gill, Travis Tritt, The Blue Caps, Robert Wells and Earl Scruggs.
In 1997 Albert was given a Lifetime Achievement Award by B.C.M.A. (The British Country Music Association). Albert has earned the worldwide respect of artistes, musicians and fans alike, across many different styles of music. Voted Guitar Player Magazine’s “Best Country Guitar Picker” five times. In October 1995 received a coveted Gold Badge Award from B.A.S.C.A. (The British Academy of Songwriters, Composers and Authors).
In November 2002 Albert was amongst other world class names appearing at the Royal Albert Hall in the 'Concert for George', a tribute to George Harrison. In 2007, 2010 and 2013 Albert appeared at Eric Clapton’s Crossroads Festival in Chicago. In 2014 Albert appeared at a Tribute Concert to The Everly Brothers staged by The Rock n Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland, Ohio. He sang stunning duets with, Emmylou Harris, Peter Asher and Alison Morer. In 2015 Albert appeared at The London Palladium and Clyde Auditorium as part of Jerry Lee Lewis’s 80th birthday concerts.
In March 2015 two sell out concerts took place at the Cadogan Hall in London to honour Albert and celebrate his 70th birthday. A whole host of stars and friends turned out to celebrate with him.
