A Bunch of Japes - Road to Edinburgh presents Fern Brady!

11/04/2017

About this Event

Leading up to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival we are hosting the very best and exciting acts in Stand-up Comedy.

A Bunch of Japes is a night for comedians to try out new material so if you love stand up comedy this is the night for you!

Appearing tonight we have Fern Brady And Charlie Dinkin.

Former comedy reviewer Fern Brady first tried stand-up after the magazine she worked for suggested she write an article where she 'faked it' as a comedian. She enjoyed it so much that one year on, she embarked on it as a career.

She went on to win the So You Think You're Funny 3rd place in 2011, Hilarity Bites New Act Of The Year 2nd place in 2011, Rock Radio XS New Act Of The Year in 2011 and reached the finals of the Piccadilly Comedy Club new act competition in 2012.

'A great comic sensibility, with moments of sparkling verve' (The Guardian)

'Crackles with fire, has beautiful timing, perfectly pitched delivery and great gags to boot... has the air about her of a woman going places' (The Scotsman).

Charlie Dinkin is a comedian and writer from London. She was the first international student to graduate from The Second City's Comedy Studies programme, and was both member and head writer of Columbia University's oldest and best sketch comedy revue from 2008-2012. Recently, you may have seen her improvising with Glitch or Music Box, as part of the Soho Theatre Young Company, or during one of her sell-out stand up shows at Mach Fest or the Edinburgh Fringe.

‘A fresh voice, my favourite new comedian – I wish I could buy shares in her career’ (Trevor Lock)

Acts are subject to change, but we will find somebody equally as awesome to fill in.
