QUIET LIONS

PARACHUTE FOR GORDO // TWOTHIRTYTWO // NOTHING BUT THIEVES



Brighton/London based quartet Quiet Lions aren’t quite the newcomers they appear. Formed partially of members from previous Alcopop Records signing Jumping Ships, they’d tasted success and won plenty of plaudits, but weren’t quite ready to let the sun go down on the dream. After the breakup of Ships; Michael Williams, Richard Thorp and Oli Austen set about writing new material straight away, recruiting local producer and multi-instrumentalist Luke Holmes (Guitar/Keys/Vocals) and in 3 months demoed 12 songs.

Debut 6 track EP ‘Surroundings’ was recorded by Quiet Lions and Chris Coulter (Arcane Roots) and mixed by Jag Jago (Ghost of a Thousand/Maccabees). In a perfect segue from the delicate construction of ‘Demons’, a haunting and sparse opener which twinkles and swells alluringly, ‘Just Deserve’ provides the light and shade that make Quiet Lions so intriguing; a mix of soaring post-rock choruses, powerful Jeff Buckley-infused melodies and vocals, intricate guitar work and complex rhythms.



‘Surroundings’ is self-released on 4th November through TableTalk records.

In an effort to utilise their time they have scraped together their educated minds, drenched in unimportant scribblings, hooked on 80’s and 90’s references, and have written some songs. twothirtytwo perform catchy little ditties to form the perfect soundtrack to your apocalypse.





Fond of a good adventure they have quickly risen to find themselves snuggled in the hearts of many a promoter. Their début EP, released to rave reviews, is keen companion to their vigorous and energetic live shows. Endeared by their efforts, people actually turn up to their gigs.
