FLYTE
Flyte are Will Taylor (vocals, lead guitar), Nick Hill (bass, vocals), Sam Berridge (keyboards, guitars, vocals) and Jon Supran (drums, vocals). The band has spent the first months of 2017 in Australia putting the finishing touches to their debut album with ‘Courtney Barnett’ producer Burke Reid, a collaboration that delves deep
into new sonic territory to create a modernist but timeless sound that revels in coming-of-age nostalgia, cinematic synth melodies and prolific storytelling themes of life, love and death.
Last year, vocalist Will Taylor and keys player Sam Berridge got drunk and uploaded a cover of Joni Mitchell’s ‘River’ to their Facebook page. The slap-dash DIY charm and heart-
wrenching voices started a Flyte-movement. Racking up over 1M streams, fans wanted more sessions, and Flyte began carefully curating covers in London landmarks with towering acoustics, earning a reputation for their trademark four-part harmonies, as well as their live sound. Pulling on all their resources, the band also started a successful sell-out club night Chasing Heaven, where friends were invited to play at intimate London venues.
Accomplished songwriters Will, Sam, Nick, and Jon have released a flurry of alternative-indie anthems including ‘We Are The Rain’, ‘Closer Together,’ and ‘Light Me Up’ over the past few years and have amassed over 1.5M Spotify streams. Evolving together as a band and great friends.
Farebrother
Bath-based indie rock quartet Farebrother have had a non-stop 2016, with the release of their début EP ‘Rapture’ and numerous shows under their belts, the band are certainly making their mark on the local music scene. Having recently supported the likes of The Amazons, Baby Strange, Beach Baby and All Tvvins in Bristol, Farebrother have received excellent feedback from both bands and audiences alike. Esteemed blogs such as TMRW Magazine have supported Farebrother, adding them to their ‘TMRW Presents’ gig night line-ups along with acts such as Flyte, Tempesst and ISLAND taking place at The Garage and The Finsbury in London. In addition to this, BBC Introducing in the West have broadcast the band’s lead single ‘Third Flaw’ on their Saturday night show. To accompany this, Farebrother released their first music video for ‘Third Flaw’ in August of this year which was filmed by established production company Media Mayhem. Receiving high praise from social media and fans alike, Game of Thrones star Maisie Williams even tweeted the new clip, which received a great response. Farebrother have been prominent on the festival circuit this year with the prestigious Dot to Dot Festival being a particular highlight for the band. Things are only just getting started for this incredibly talented four-piece, keep an eye out as 2017 looks set to be their year!
The Lures
The Lures have had an electric start to life as a band in 2017, seeing their first single 'Riverbed' championed by BBC introducing and playing shows with the likes of Sound of the Sirens and Luke Sital-Singh. Led by the dual vocals of Hamish Goodwin and Maria Kontorravdis, this is heartfelt and powerful new music.
