Young Kato today announced the unveiling of the video for brand new single ‘Something Real’. The video showcases lead singer Tommy Wright risking life and limb being dragged by a rope through the streets of the UK. Filmed on the coldest day of the year in a number of locations in the UK, the video reaches its conclusion on the Kent coastline in Denge, a former Airforce base where enormous concrete ‘ears’ were built to hear incoming aircraft during the 1920’s.



Fast paced and full of the youthful exuberance of this visually and sonically electrifying new band, the video for ‘Something Real’ also features cameos by all members of the band during the various stages of Tommy passing through. But it was Tommy who took the brunt of director’s vision. Ending the day covered in cuts and bruises and also having to be forced out of the sub zero temperatures of the sea by the Harbour Master, Tommy tweeted “I’ve gone through every pain in the book for this band,” “I’ve been pulled through the ocean, I nearly got hypothermia, I’ve been punched in the face, dragged along the concrete and had cuts in my shirt and through to my skin.”



Since the release of the critically acclaimed Young Kato EP in the summer of 2012, Young Kato have been touring the UK tirelessly with headline shows across the country and successful support slots with a wide array of bands, including Spector, Bastille, Swim Deep, We Are Scientists and Peace. The band also featured heavily in the first episode of the new series of Made in Chelsea with a superb performance that took their debut EP soaring up the charts.



The Young Kato EP hit #31 in the main iTunes album charts as well as breaking into the top 10 of the Alternative charts. and re-entered the album Top 40 for a second time this week. Already gaining national airplay from Absolute Radio for the single as well as being featured on 4 Music and Topman’s now must-have tastemaker Mixtape, Young Kato recently signed by BMG for both publishing and records and headed straight into the studio with a fistful of killer demos and producer Gordon Mills Jr.



With an average age of just 18, Young Kato have continued their knack of writing incredibly danceable, synth edged indie-rock and rapidly produced three potential singles in those first recording sessions.
