Sir Carl Morris
About this Event
Hearing the likes of Björk, Luke Vibert, Public Enemy and Horace Andy on late-night radio inspired Sir Carl Morris to retire from piano lessons at a young age and resort exclusively to playing other people's records.
He is a relative new arrival to Bristol having relocated to the city in late 2016 from Cardiff along with his formidably heavy vinyl collection spanning mutant disco funk, nice little groovers, and the downright uncategorisable.
Sir Carl has since musically warmed the hearts, and toes, of revellers at many events including Festival Number 6, Glastonbury, Sŵn Festival and the National Eisteddfod of Wales.
He is the originator of the visual sampling photographic meme Sleeveface, defined on its website sleeveface.com as "one or more persons obscuring or augmenting any part of their body or bodies with record sleeve(s) causing an illusion", which has been featured in ITV's This Morning, Boston Globe and Le Monde.
It was in recognition of these exploits that he awarded himself a knighthood in a special ceremony in late 2015.
