DANCE #13 - Flava D Presents w/ Flava D, Skepsis + Champion
About this Event
For the penultimate DANCE event of the academic year we're bringing a full line-up of heavyweight bass acts to 3sixty on Friday 19th January as part of the latest "Flava D Presents" tour! Headlined by the lady herself, Flava D will be joined on the night by none other than Skepsis, Champion + MC Serious
Flava D is a producer that makes Garage, Grime, Hip Hop and House from London. She signed to Butterz in early 2013 and has since released two critically acclaimed records for the label: 'Hold On' and 'On My Mind', a collaboration with Royal-T. She has also delivered a club smash 'In The Dance' for Champion's Formula Records, headlined club nights and festivals plus she's releasing well received album projects such as her FABRICLIVE 88 mix and the TQD album ukg.
In the clubs and when she pops up on Rinse FM her DJ sets focus on her own original productions, collaborations and remixes (90% of the tracks on her FABRICLIVE mix were self produced). As a core part of the Butterz record label she’s found a crew that’s positively blossomed from the incorporation of her music and as a result of that relationship she’s collaborated with luminaries like Wiley and My Nu Leng, toured the globe relentlessly and [possibly more importantly] been afforded a position where she’s encouraged to just make music, constantly.
South London based producer and DJ Skepsis is no stranger to any fan of the UK bass sound. Coming to public attention with a series of heavyweight originals andremixes, his gritty basslines and intricate rhythms have gained him support from both fans and acclaimed artists alike all over the world. Fast forward to the current day, and the 21-year-old Londoner’s meteoric rise shows no sign of slowing. A regular on the club circuit, armed with tunes and mixing skills which never fail to cause carnage in any venue, Skepsis is truly cementing himself as one of the biggest young talents in the scene.
A man with a penchant for low-end basslines and dazzling rhythmic patterns, Champion is no stranger to innovation in his productions, making his mark on the UK underground with the breakthrough release of his debut effort, the scintillating ‘Motherboard’ EP on Terror Danjah’s Hardrive imprint in 2011. With musicality being the focus of his work it’s no surprise that the East London beatsmith has produced seminal music that touches upon House, UK Funky and Grime with effortless attention to detail and without dilution.
Releases for high profile labels like Hyperdub (‘SOA’ EP), Text (‘Kool FM’), Digital Soundboy (‘X-Tempo’), Butterz (‘Crystal Meth’), and OWSLA/NEST HQ (‘Execution’ / ‘Take Off Your Clothes’) has seen Champion’s productions catch the ears of forward thinking crowds and fellow artists alike, whilst his renowned flair in the studio has seen him collaborate with high calibre artists such as AC Slater, Four Tet, Terror Danjah and Melé. DJ peers such as Mark Ronson, Diplo, Annie Mac, Benji B, Four Tet, Skream & Benga, Redlight, Loefah and Ben UFO regularly drop his latest output into their sets.
With one of our biggest line-ups yet, tickets for DANCE #13 are certain to fly (especially the limited early birds) so be sure to get yours early!
