Tall Ships
“Everything Touching is an album that revels in its own ambition”
7/10 NME
“The best live act I’ve seen this year…I think they will be huge.”
Jason Carter – Head of Live Music
(BBC Radio 1, Radio 2, 1xtra, 6music)
“The mathy skronk of Battles, Foals’ wounded hearts and The xx’s sense of space, all tempered by a freeness of mind that only comes from breathing a dose of sea air each morning”
NME
Tall Ships released their debut album ‘Everything Touching’ in October, through Big Scary Monsters/Blood and Biscuits, receiving rave reviews from all corners of the press. The album was recorded with producer Jamie Field in Bovey Tracey, Devon and mastered by Jeff Lipton at Peerless (Battles, LCD Soundsystem, Bon Iver and Arcade Fire).
Tall Ships are fast gaining a well-deserved reputation as one of the most innovative and exciting live bands in the UK right now. They tour relentlessly and have honed the show into a thrilling experience, both aurally and visually as layers of sound and vocals are cleverly and deftly assembled to startling effect. On their recent UK tour, Tall Ships performed to sold out venues across the country before completing the tour by performing to a packed out Scala, London. They then continued across Europe, embarking on their first headline tour, having previously supported the likes of Nada Surf and 65daysofstatic on the continent. Tall Ships have already supported the likes of We Are Scientists, Metronomy, Dry The River, Los Campesinos!, Maps & Atlases, The Futureheads, Minus The Bear, Three Trapped Tigers & Tubelord across the UK, as well as embarking on trips to play at SXSW, CMJ, and in Brazil and Malta.
Tall Ships have also performed at numerous summer festivals throughout the UK and Europe, including headlining the BBC Introducing stage at Reading & Leeds, performing at Latitude, Bestival, Immergut (Germany) and packing out two nights at The Great Escape in Brighton.
The band are currently working towards the release of their second album.
