Blending beats with hiphop, funk, garage and any other genre that tickles their fancy, Brighton-based Maltese lads South Central have successfully etched a reputation as certified bad boys of the bass music scene.

Touring with the Prodigy and Pendulum, supporting Rage Against The Machine and Vitalic, and remixing A-listers DJ Fresh and Drumsound and Bassline Smith, among many others, has also pushed their profile further into the limelight, as a result of which their music has been hammered by the likes of Knife Party, Kill The Noise and Mistajam.



The track titles, namely Star Wars, Jawdrop, Armageddon and Bassmonster, are also pretty indicative of the cinematically-inspired theme underlying the onslaught of riffs and rhythms featured on the Hollywood EP. Perhaps the duo’s own words sum up the approach for the EP perfectly:

“We wanted to write tracks that, when played at a festival or in a club, remind people of the thrill one gets when watching an epic movie, like the Star Wars intro, for example. We also seek to recreate that feeling in our DJ sets; that full-on experience of sound.”
