Robyn Hitchcock // 2ND NOV // @ THE DUCHESS
About this Event
Please Please You presents Robyn Hitchcock
The Duchess, York. Sat. 2nd Nov. 2013, 7pm. £14adv/£16otd.
An English songwriter who's surreal wordplay brings to mind the (now sadly lost) greats Kevin Ayers and Syd Barrett. Fantastic imagery and great tales lie beneath. He formed and fronted The Soft Boys in 1976, one of the best British bands ever. They recorded two and a half amazing records and it was over.
Arriving at The Duchess after an american tour with his band The Venus 3 and Peter Buck from REM in support, will sharpen him up, as will performances at Glastonbury and the Portishead curated ATP Festival in June. We're delighted to be hosting this show.
PLEASE NOTE, THIS SHOW WILL BE 50% SEATED ON AN UNRESERVED BASIS.
