+ Matt Kerr
Tuesday 27 May @ The BOILEROOM, Guildford, GB
Steph Macleod is a Christian singer/songwriter who hails from the city of Edinburgh, but is making his way down south for a performance in Guildford. Steph has been writing and performing his music throughout the UK since 2006. Recently Steph, has been appearing all over the country in solo gigs and at festivals with his band including Belladrum, Retrofest, Spratton festivals. Winner of the Berlin's Troubadour international songwriter contest Steph Macleod is a talented singer/songwriter whose music lies rooted in the Blues/Folkrock/Aamericana genre. His song writing is inspired by the unsweetened reality of life, if you like bone dry honesty, foot-tapping tunes, and a bit of originality, you'll love this! Think Benjamin Francis Leftwich, Ben Howard, Ray Lamontage and add some Scottishness to the sound and you are presented with the earthy sound of Steph Macleod.
Come and hear him sing and share about his experience of substance abuse, homelessness and who saved him at his darkest hour.
“Steph Macleod – and what a fantastic night it was! Steph is an excellent singer and guitarist but his music comes alive through the telling of stories about his life”.
Supporting Steph is Brighton’s up and coming acoustic performer Matt Kerr. Having played at the Silverstone Grand Prix, flown out to Kansas City to play guitar, done live session work for internationally renowned artists, to gigging in the local pub he has already made a significant mark on the industry with no sign of stopping.
He released an E.P. under the Cedarwood Music label in July 2013 that reached #25 in 'The Top 100 New Releases' and #3 in 'The Movers and Shakers Chart' on Amazon.
