“Demob Happy were one of the highlights of this years Great Escape festival, hosting their own sweat drenched secret party at their café HQ” - NME

- DIY

"... For those that don't know them, this band have the perfect balance of catchy pop style vocals and well- timed break downs, ensuring that their tracks never leave it's indie rock vibes... Sounding a bit like early Strokes, with a dash of Queens of the Stone Age and you get one hell of a talented band.” - Artrocker

"This grunge-psych rock outfit blew us away with their headline performance on the Crossroads stage. They'll make you feel the speakers through your sneakers." – Secret Garden Party

The bands name comes from 'demobilisation happy', or how it feels when you leave behind something you were sick of doing - and they must be sick of something. Declaring themselves devoid of institution, they've collapsed house party roofs and played gigs out of vans - defining the great escape festival before they were even asked to play it.

Looking like extras from Dazed and Confused, the Newcastle born quartets general shtick is all long hair and effortlessness - while their grunge inflected clatter is as gloriously ramshackle as their unconventional approach to gigging suggests. Think early Kings of Leon meets Queens of The Stone Age - a yellow submarine that runs on dirty guitar drawls and 90s swagger.

They've had their equipment taken by the noise police, recorded and produced everything they've ever done themselves, and made music videos for £10 - totally D.I.Y.

"It’s a long way away from the grungy heights of the 90s but Demob Happy don’t give a shit what year it is."
