Northside originally formed in 1989 in Manchester amidst the scene that produced the stone roses, the happy Mondays, the inspiral carpets and the charlatans. the band split in 1992 but after the re-issue of their classic album chicken rhythms, in 2006, the band have reformed. with hits such as shall we take a trip?, my rising star, and take 5 behind them, they plan to bring a little of the late eighties, early nineties Manchester magic back to the stage.



808 state (dj set) aka Spinmasters



The story of 808 state defines a whole era of electronic dance music. formed in Manchester in 1988, the seminal group's first album, newbuild, is now regarded as a milestone in uk electronica and sprang from a desire to push the outer-limits of the dance sound that was growing out of the warehouse scene in north west England. the similarly vital track ‘pacific state' followed, soon becoming an end-of-night anthem at the infamous Haçienda. graham massey, andrew barker and Darren Partington are the three members who remain from the original 808 state line-up and in the years since pioneering a sound we now call rave, have achieved so much. not least with 808 state soundsystem, the dj arm of 808 state. together the members of the seminal band play records with the same sense of narrative that defines their live sets. they play a knowing blend of acid, break-beat, techno and house with real élan to adoring crowds everywhere.



As well as performing countless sell out and legendary gigs over the years, 808 state also made it stateside. they have collaborated with the likes of Quincy Jones, David Bowie and Afrika Bambaataa and more recently their output during the 2000s took in collaborations with simian mobile disco and ninja tunes. as such, despite forming more than a quarter of a century ago, the band and its output is so hugely influential they still cast an ominous shadow over the electronic music scene of today.



The Assist

The assist are a 4 piece indie/alternative band from Walsall. the lads have a huge passion for real music, and their honest, hard hitting lyrics speak for themselves. it's music that anyone can identify with from sing along anthems to infectious guitar riffs.



The band has achieved relative success in such a short time, their debut ep 'speak it aloud was released march this year and broke into the I-Tunes alternative album chart peaking at #129. they've performed headline gigs at the 02 academy Birmingham and little civic Wolverhampton, support slots with reverend and the makers, twisted wheel and also legendary bass player of the jam Bruce Foxton. a recent highlight for the band was playing Blackpool rocks festival sharing the stage with the 1975, disclosure and swim deep.



They've frequently had headlines in local newspapers and also airplay on fm radio stations including bbc introducing and amazing radio.

Their new track 'escape ' received over 10,000 hits on soundcloud in just the first 4 days. headlined tramlines green room in sheffield earlier this year ,this band are picking up speed.



A band that can keep things fresh, change things about and still keep it original is a band with an immense capability to relocate positively upwards in the music industry. They have the sound that makes you turn your head and take notice, especially the newly written tune, stop the world. it's not explicitly synth led or guitar driven there is a talented balance. luke's idiosyncratic vocal and metaphorical lyrics has the power to paint story however little or however big in imaginations
