Hero Fisher is a rare gem - the genuine article, in contemporary music's every-filling bucket of glittering fakes and plastic imitations.



Her music, on first listen, magnetizes you with its crackling, unpredictable power, and raw emotional language. There is instantly a sense of mystery, too, of songs you'll be unpicking for weeks, even years, or may never quite nail the meaning of.



Debuting as a late-twentysomething, Hero generates an artistic gravitas incomparable with any other singer of her generation - male or female.



In search of meaningful comparisons, you'd have to go back to early-'90s arrivisites such as Jeff Buckley, with his turbulent, passion-warped song structures, or Polly Harvey, who joins Bob Dylan, Leonard Cohen and Nick Cave amongst Fisher's few outright heroes.
