Full Line Up: Recruits, The Survival Code, Too Many Poets, Elevant, Justin O’Sullivan



For March’s Rock show at Surya, we have scoured the length and breadth of the country for some serious talent.



Topping the bill is Recruits. Recruits are an Alternative Rock five piece who are travelling all the way from Lincolnshire for the show. The band have had their fair share of exposure up North, with regular airplay on local radio and have played on the stages of huge venues including the O2 Academies in both Birmingham and Sheffield, as well as the Manchester Academy.



Joining them are our hometown band, representing the Capital for the evening, The Survival Code. This Alt Rock quartet gigged extensively when they released the EP “Everything But Today” in 2012 and have been writing the upcoming album since then. Their sound has been compared to: Foo Fighters, Coheed and Cambria and Alkaline Trio to name a few, so you know you’re in for something special.



Oxford quintet Too Many Poets are coming along too. The band aren’t fans of genre labelling, but with influences from everything from The Smiths to Mastadon, the lads are bound to create something interesting.



Joining us all the way from Liverpool are heavy, psychedelic rock trio, Elevant. For a three piece, these guys make a hell of a lot of noise! The band released their debut album in September to rave reviews, gaining four stars and this little nugget of praise from Gigslutz, “Although such a variety of genres are squeezed into eight tracks, they are approached as though Elevant are veterans in each one.”



Opening the show is Acoustic singer/songwriter, Justin O’Sullivan. This solo act only started seriously gigging in the last year but has already played at some of the Capital’s most well renowned venues such as The Underbelly, The Workshop and The Comedy.
