Brother & Bones
Brother & Bones are an English 5-piece who write songs with artistry of folk troubadours, the energy of punks, the swagger of rock stars with the self-belief of stadium headliners.
Richard Thomas fronts the band, and is a master of the acoustic guitar with a soul- bearing almost holy power to his voice. Combined with the other four Brother & Bones members, Thomas’ own stand-alone talent is an inescapable force. Si Robinson’s bass guitar snarls and grinds and adds the fire to the band’s belly. The furious and note-perfect guitar work of James Willard gives the songs venom and power that do battle with the blues-folk roots of Thomas’s songs. Drummer Yiannis Sachinis offers the band’s heartbeat, turning great rock songs in to stomping, unrelenting behemoths and Robin Howell plays complex and wide ranging percussion, weaving subtle texture through to extra power into the songs.
Brother & Bones on record encompassing aspects of folk, indie, rock, blues, jazz, funk and soul as will moments of pure tribal rhythms and chanting. But it’s in the live arena that Brother & Bones sound comes alive and where their extensive touring- from small bars to festivals - has won them a big following and nominations for various awards including Best Live Band at Live Music Awards, 2012 and Best Live Band at Aim Awards, 2013 plus endorsements with Takamine guitars, Gretsch drums, Deusenberg guitars, Daddario strings and Fender.
Brother & Bones have toured with Brit Award winner Ben Howard and are currently on a European support tour with The Boxer Rebellion. As part of the tour they play The Forum, London on Friday 11th October, followed their own massive 33-date UK headlining tour:
To Be Alive EP is released via the bands own Last Step Records.
“Brother & Bones are the best live act you will see this year. They have the whole
package and deserve to have longevity in this industry” - Music News
“Five musicians who are pushing the boundaries. Comparing Brother and Bones to
anyone is an erroneous feat, what they’re doing is guided only by their ambition and
ferocity to make their own kind of music” - Acoustic magazine
