About this Event

John Bull and the Bandits

22:15 - 23:00

John Bull was born out of the collective imagination of Brothers Tom and Sam Bull. The Brothers grew up together on the south coast, picking guitars and listening to their early heroes Woody and Johnny. It was during these early years that the John Bull sound was born.

Elsewhere the various young Bandits were furiously learning their trade: how to beat skins, pull strings, and blow things.

As soon as he could John Bull headed to London for all

reasons music.

Over time and places John Bull began to collect his Bandits and it was as ‘John Bull and the Bandits’ that he began to play venues such as the Fiddlers Elbow, the Half Moon, the Troubadour, Ronnie Scotts, the Proud Galleries, the Spice of Life, The Old Queens Head, Aint Nothing But The Blues Bar, Madam Jojo’s, and the Crypt.

There had always been something missing in the early years, and that had been the Bandits. The Bandits amplify John Bull, and turn him into a force of nature. The Bandits take the penny that is John Bull off the floor, wipe off the dirt, and spend him wisely.

And so John Bull and The Bandits launch their assault on the London scene robbing from the musically rich to create shockingly contemporary Blues and Old Time Rock n’ Roll for which the young, beautiful, and damned are turning out in their droves to hear.
