Full Line Up: The Gorgeous Chans, Janissary, Ofelia, Missmaze



Our first July show at Surya sees a celebration, to mark the release of our headline band’s debut single.



The Gorgeous Chans are joining us all the way from Nottingham to mark this occasion. This band really are on the edge of big things and after recently embarking on an extensive UK tour, the band’s name is well and truly out there. They’ve enjoyed airplay on multiple local BBC radio stations as well as being recently play listed on Amazing Radio. The band’s brand of tropical Indie-Pop has recently bagged them a slot alongside big names like Rae Morris and Amber Run on this year’s Dot to Dot Festival, but amazingly this isn’t the lads’ most high profile festival appearance, after taking to the stage at last year’s Bestival.

The B-Side to their debut single has recently been featured on Q Magazine’s website to give you a taste of what’s to come, we predict, big things!



Joining them is Janissary. Janissary are a London four piece who play Indie infused Prog Rock and have a very confident and unique sound, especially for when you consider they’ve only been playing together for less than a year. The band have already been playing a number of well renowned underground venues on the London scene including the Comedy,

229 and the Good Ship to build their name, especially since the release of their debut EP.



We’re also joined by Ofelia, who are coming all the way from South Wales for this show. This quintet are also pretty new on the scene, especially in London, but despite their short time together, have already formed sound all of their own, playing Folk tinged Indie. This sound has already bagged them airplay on BBC Radio Wales, so it can only be onward and upward from here.



Missmaze will also be on the bill. Missmaze are a Progressive Art Rock band from Guildford who have mainly been playing locally, up until now, when they have their sights firmly set on the Capital and we’re very excited to have them after multiple good reviews from industry big wigs, including this praise from Metropolis’ Label Manager, “A very original and powerful music, with full of energy”.
