are propulsive bass lines, primitive disco-not-disco drums and guitar lines sharp as broken glass. The band was formed in 2012 by members Rachel Aggs (guitar), Billy Easter (bass) and Andrew Milk (drums), who’ve all done time in a plethora of notable UK DIY bands including Trash Kit and Wet Dog. They pull from a well of 70’s post-punk with a voraciousness seldom seen these days, bringing to mind the jagged aggression of Gang of Four, the voracious yelp of The Slits and the dance inducing thrust of Delta 5 and ESG.

The band released a 7 inch single shortly after forming, which sold out within a week. The band’s self-released debut LP, put out via their own MILK records in the UK has received whole-hearted acclaim, selling out their 1000 piece run in just a few months by hand delivering them to top-tier UK shops, who couldn’t seem to get enough of their groove riding, tough talking, life-loving post-punk funk. Now the band have signed on to FatCat, with a new LP on the way later in 2015 and to introduce the band stateside we’ve made their self-released album available in the US for the first time.

Venus Demilo aren’t afraid to display themselves in their music. The Liverpool four-piece talk about both the highs and lows of being a twenty-something in 2015. Their infectious indie-rock sound is dominated by catchy vocal melodies, ethereal guitar playing and haunting electronic sounds that allow them to embody the message of their name.

Over the past year the band have been busy gigging around the UK playing alongside More Than Conquerors, Beaty Heart and The Pigeon Detectives. Their energetic live performance has turned heads and has earned the band media coverage from BBC Introducing, Amazing Radio and Bay TV.

The band will be promoting the release for second single 'Sophia', released December 11th.

PANGEA:

Four-piece indie rock/funk band based in Liverpool. The band formed in January of 2015 after meeting at the University of Liverpool's Popular Music degree course. Bassist Paul Guice and his brother, Kieren, have been playing in bands together for many years, so they form an extremely tight rhythm section, providing a solid base for the band's other elements. Levi Deeble is the main guitarist and has also been playing for many years, featuring in bands and performing at open mic nights in his home town regularly before heading off to university. He also provides backing vocals to lead singer, guitarist and saxophone player Anthony Cunningham who heads the band with his smooth tones infused with incredible falsetto moments.

The band originally formed out of a mutual appreciation of indie and funk music. After some lengthy discussions about the music they love, the lads decided to have a jam together to see what came of it. They haven't looked back since then, and have been growing into a sharp, well-rehearsed group with a fresh sound, brilliantly including stunning saxophone elements into their music. They wrote two songs on their first day of rehearsals, including the track 'All She Does' which perfectly demonstrates the groups indie rock capabilities. Pangea also like to incorporate choppy guitar rhythms and beats that are easy for you to dance to, ensuring a high energy performance and atmosphere.
