About this Event

Tropical Gypsy Tour

Having packed out a string of intimate preview shows in November, London’s most raucous live act, Molotov Jukebox, will be heading out again in April for thirteen UK dates, celebrating the release of their much anticipated second album “Tropical Gypsy”. Out 1st April 2016, the forthcoming LP perfectly captures the six piece’s exotic blend of bohemian Balkan and is the product of a successful Pledge Music campaign that saw hundreds of fans support the band’s musical vision and lend their hand in making it a reality.

Influenced by the sights and sounds encountered on tours in Mexico and Spain, “Tropical Gypsy” is the perfect description of the bands signature sound: a foot stomping, whirlwind of revelry that joyfully deals with not only the highs but also the lows of everyday life, without ever missing a beat. Fronted by the enthralling Natalia Tena, of silver screen and TV fame, the band’s live shows bring together accordion, brass and violins with guitar, bass and drums to give traditional world music a no holds barred modern carnival twist.

With dates starting in Nottingham on 19th April and ending in their hometown at London’s Village Underground on 5th May, the band’s most expansive tour yet marks the next step for this act, who have been firm festival favourites, playing everywhere from Glastonbury, WOMAD, Larmer Tree and Wilderness. A Jukebox jamboree from start to finish, no foot will surely be left untapped as when Molotov comes to town!
