8th of January 1940 – World War II: Britain introduces food rationing for the first time in the conflict.

Coincidently the loopt lads are also on rationing. Not because of the threat of German u-boats lucking in the cold shipping channels of the Atlantic, but because they are greedy disc jockeys who have induldged in outrageous glutony over the Christmas period.

They are quite good at playing records though.
