About this Event

The coming Bossaphonik on Friday 12th Feb features a beast of band that are new to Bossaphonik.



Gypsy Hill play an intoxicating mix of Balkan brass, Mediterranean surf rock, ska and swing. Featuring a line up of horns, tuba, guitars, a scratch DJ and a mix of live and electronic beats. They bring their own truly original angle on Balkan dance music – effortlessly mixing the traditional with a modern sound.



Led by producers DJ Kobayashi and Herbert Newbert, they have taken what began as a studio project and honed it into a gradually growing live band bringing high energy live shows. They have since remixed the likes of Balkan Beat Box and been featured on the Ninja Tune label's recent compilation alongside electronic music royalty of Bonobo, Mr Scruff and Coldcut. They have also toured many of the best festivals in the UK and Europe.
