About this Event
Global superstar rapper, Nelly, plays O2 Academy Bournemouth on Saturday 18th June, as part of The Fix Tour.
Having sold over 20 million albums, Nelly has had an incredible career to date and 2015 has shown no signs of the musician, entrepreneur and actor slowing down. His latest single, ‘The Fix’ features vocals from R&B artist Jeremih and is produced by hit maker, DJ Mustard alongside Mike Free. The first track to be released from his forthcoming eighth album has Nelly’s unique, trademark sound and seamlessly takes Marvin Gaye’s classic ‘Sexual Healing’ for a spin, giving this legendary track a new sound for a modern day audience. Nelly has been also been busy taking his live show across the US, Australia, Middle East, Europe and, in his hometown of St. Louis, has appeared live on stage with Taylor Swift and Haim, and was also invited to sing with Stevie Wonder for renditions of his standout track ‘Hot In Herre’.
Fifteen years ago Nelly exploded into charts worldwide, knocking Eminem and Britney Spears off the top spot, with his debut album ‘Country Grammar’. The release featured hits ‘Country Grammar (Hot Shit)’, ‘E.I.’, ‘Ride wit Me’ and ‘Batter Up’ and has been ranked as the ninth best-selling rap album of all time in the US and was certified nine-times platinum, making it one of the highest certified albums in the US history. His follow-up in 2002, ‘Nellyville’, went straight to Number 1 on the US Billboard charts and took the Number 2 spot worldwide (Australia, UK, Canada, Germany, New Zealand). The same year Nelly won six awards at the Billboard Music Awards and a year later he walked away with two Grammys, with ‘Nellyville’ being named Album of The Year.
With future releases Nelly has continued to amass chart-topping hits, secure platinum status for numerous albums and just a few of his collaborations to date include Justin Timberlake, Diddy, Murphy Lee, Kelly Rowland, T-Pain, Akon and Fergie, and has even showcased his versatility and originality working with the likes of Tim McGraw and more recently with Florida Georgia Line on the six-times Platinum single ‘Cruise’.
Ranked the fourth highest-selling rapper of all time, prepare to witness a true superstar on stage in Bournemouth at this unmissable live show.
