Having enjoyed our last night so much, we have decided to take Afrodisiac outside for a day party on Blue Mountain’s terrace. This time, we will be joined by a particularly special line-up flown in from across the globe.

Afrodisiac aims to bridge the gap between all things soulful, funky and electronic through hosting a dancefloor with Afro/world vibes blended with disco, house, techno, soul and funk in an intimate and all-inclusive environment.

We will have a few tricks up our sleeve to make this a day to remember. First, we’d like to give you a brief introduction to the DJs joining us.

**MR RAOUL K**

Mr Raul K hails from Agboville, Ivory Coast. In 1992, he left Africa and moved to Hamburg. While in Hamburg, he got seriously involved with the aesthetic vibe of German dance music. He combines traditional African instruments and rhythms with German production techniques and soundscapes to make beautiful afro-beat influenced house and techno. Each release of his ‘Peul’ series features a specific African instrument as its main sound, including a Cora (African guitar) in his ‘Le Cercle Peul’ release and on ‘Le Karantkatrieme Peul’ he used the Balafon (African percussion). As a result, due to his loyalty to the sounds of his West African roots and his devotion to electronic dance music, he produces a euphoric blend of Afro–Innervisions-esque electronic music.

With his praise from numerous DJs, including Henrik Schwarz, Dixon and Giles Peterson, and a regular performer at Watergate, Berlin, Raoul has cemented his place in both production and DJing, so we are excited to be the privileged promoters to introduce him to the Bristol music scene!

**MR. MENDEL**

Growing up in and based in Amsterdam, Mr Mendel’s first influences were found in hip-hop. Later when he worked at Waxwell Records, he got further introduced to many styles of music, broadening his music horizon from Brazil to Afro, Soul and Disco to House. Mr Mendel’s selections are characterised by passionate and intriguing tunes. In his sets you can recognise his diverse influences, from Amsterdam’s soulful school of DJs like Hunee, Antal and Marcel Vogel. To Chicago’s warehouse DJs like Rahaan, Sadar Bahar & Ron Trent.

His production ranges from Afro and world influenced disco and house, with his biggest releases including remixes of Fela Kuti, Gil Scott-Heron and the Brazilian Trio-Ternura.

Mr Mendel is a DJ who is exceptionally dedicated to his craft. He has driven the philosophy of playing music because it moves you both emotionally and physically - so will be the perfect selector to get the Blue Mountain terrace kicking off in the late afternoon/early.

**HARRI PEPPER**

Born in Pembrokeshire based in Bristol, lover of vinyl and all things groovy. Harri Pepper, as a resident for Stamp the Wax and regular for Futureboogie, knows how to keep a party going. He combines his broad collection of records, including Afrobeat, disco and jazzy house music to fill a dancefloor with happy grooves that will keep you on Sunday afternoon.

**METHODS **

We are collaborating with one of the promoters of Methods/Boogie Nights for the organisation of this event. They will also be getting the party going with an eclectic mix of disco, house and Afro grooves.

**DJ MATT LIGHT**

We are delighted and priviledged to have local DJ Matt Light back again to host the room 2 with an all vinyl 5 hour extended set. Although he specialises in Afrobeat, with a focus on Juju and Highlife, he will also be playing a wide variety of music spanning across soul, jazz, Brazillian and funk.

**DECORATION**

After doing such an amazing job at our previous night, we are delighted to have our decorators back again. Tracy and her team do amazing handmade decorations and designs for Glastonbury, Boomtown and many other parties/festivals. They will be headin' on over to the Blue Mountain terrace to make it into a colourful, floral and tropical paradise!
