To get you in the Carnival spirit, we’re throwing a UK Funky, Bashment and R&B filled party to start your August bank holiday off properly. When we’re done, you’ll be wining all the way to Notting Hill.

Rewind to 2007: DJ and producer, Paleface releases ‘Do You Mind’ on his own Northern Line Records. The track featured a singer credited simply as Kyla, and was representative of the UK Funky sub-genre. UK Funky stalwart, Crazy Cousinz remixed "Do You Mind" a year later and it became a transformative and definitive anthem of the scene.



Fast forward to 5 April 2016. OVO Sound boss and Canadian hip hop behemoth, Drake releases the R&B inspired, Dancehall sounding - "One Dance" - featuring guest vocals from Kyla. The track reached number one in 18 countries, including the UK and US, and quickly became labelled as the soundtrack to Summer. Kyla will be joining the party and we’ve got a feeling we’ll like her style.
