A group that features members of three hugely acclaimed bands: Mogwai, Slowdive and Editors, Minor Victories visit Liverpool as part of a limited UK tuor this coming December.



Comprising of Mogwai leader Stuart Braithwaite, Slowdive vocalist/guitarist Rachel Goswell and Editors’ guitarist Justin Lockey, Minor Victories were founded by Lockey as an artistic outlet originally based around the concept of recording an extreme noise EP led by delicate female vocals.



Pieced together over several months by Lockey his musician/film maker brother James, Braithwaite and Goswell contributing via the internet, the group’s eponymous debut LP was greeted with an excellent reception in June. Awarded five stars by The Skinny in addition to four star notices from Mojo and Q, Magnet praised the set as ‘a modern dream-pop classic 9/10’.



Combining Editors’ motoric pulse, Mogwai’s atmospheric textures and Goswell’s hypnotic vocals, Braithwaite said of the LP ‘I think if you know the music that all of us have made, it won't really surprise you. It has a lot of the good elements from everyone's bands’.



The first tranche of UK dates undertaken by the band, the development of Minor Victories from a solo EP project into a full-blown album and live band speaks volumes of the enthusiasm the members have for the material, with their upcoming live dates will be eagerly anticipated.
