Erik's Story -

I am really, excited, proud and grateful to tell you that I have been selected to Volunteer in Nandi County, Kenya with Voluntary Service Overseas (VSO) on an International Citizen Service (ICS) placement.



To help raise funds, I'll be holding a FREE party at The Loft in Matlock, with donation buckets, special raffle and also 10% of the bar going towards the the total raised :) They'll be DJs and live music!

PLEASE help spread the word, invite friends and let's have one huge party... I'll even be taking to the decks!!



ICS works with communities that have specifically requested for their help. It also aims to inspire young people, like myself, in the UK and overseas to become active citizens who are passionate about long term community development. I also believe it is an amazing opportunity to see different, amazing parts of the world and different cultures, through an easy application process, with very friendly, helpful staff and volunteers involved!



The first part of my placement is a challenge to raise £800 towards the work of VSO and their amazing ICS partners. The money raised will go towards the overall costs of ICS, ensuring they can continue sending youth volunteers to the developing world to make a lasting difference in disadvantaged areas.
