If you dont know about us we are a Bristol based Dub, Steppers, Dubwise, Rub-A-Dubstep & Rootstep record label / collective founded in 2015 with our aim to bring positive vibrations to the masses.

DUB-STUY



Dub-Stuy is a Brooklyn-based collective representing sound system culture for the 21st century. Through its label, events and other multi-faceted projects, Dub-Stuy has been a driving force behind a steady sound system renaissance in New York City, and North America. Taking inspiration from its 15,000 watt speaker stack, the collective brings together DJs, vocalists, producers, and sound system engineers for a full spectrum representation of the culture.



Since 2012, the collective has been stringing up its hand-crafted sound system in the streets and venues across New York City. Dub-Stuy events have included block parties, underground club nights as well as festival stages and have featured guests such as Ali shaheed Muhammad​, Channel One,​ Mungo’s Hi-Fi​, OBF​, Dubkasm​, Om Unit​ and Gorgon Sound​. Collaborations with local and international institutions and festivals such as Brooklyn Museum, Red Bull Music Academy, Afropunk, and Outlook have further spread the word and showcased the collective’s ethos and dedication to the culture. In the same timespan, Dub-Stuy’s affiliated label has grown into a dedicated home for sound system music in both the US and abroad with 12” singles, albums, and EPs from a growing roster of up and coming and veteran artists such as Tour de Force​, Dubamine​, Bukkha​, and DJ Madd​. Dub-Stuy releases have also featured international vocal guests

and remixers such as Ranking Joe,​ Brother Culture​, Miss Red​, Junior Dread,​ Radikal Guru​, and Moresounds​. The crew’s in-house productions and approach to A&R aims to connect old and new, taking inspiration from Jamaican music in its myriads of form, Hip-hop, and contemporary Bass music.



Outside the realm of their Brooklyn home turf, the crew’s main selectors, Q-Mastah​ and 187 Soun​d, have taken the Dub-Stuy vision and sound to parties and festivals around the world, touring regularly across Europe and Asia. True to their sound system roots, Dub-Stuy’s live performances are dynamic and engaging, combining eclectic DJ sets with vocal performances and guest appearances from MCs and selectors affiliated with the label. Expect to hear tunes from the label’s catalog mixed in with the crew’s extensive collection of original dubplate productions that will be sure to rattle your walls!

What isnt there to say about DJ Stryda...... this man has been a cornerstone of the bristol roots community for 20 years now. a true veteran selecta and Artist. One half of the mighty DUBKASM and a collector of real roots music. a man that swears by the tradition of vinyl only medium. you can expect an array of fine classics alongside rarities from JA and back. Make sure you dont miss his set as he provides music with a powerful message to the audience.
