THE TUBES featuring Fee Waybill
After opening up for Led Zeppelin, Iggy Pop & the New York Dolls in the early 1970's, San Francisco Rock Band The Tubes, released their eponymously titled debut album in 1975 on A & M Records. This included the hit single "White Punks on Dope" which went on to be covered by both Nina Hagen and Motley Crue and other classics such as "Mondo Bondage" & "What do you want from Life?".
The Tubes were re-known for their theatrical live shows which at their height featured dozens of extras including Acrobats and Tap Dancers. The band released three more albums on A & M before leaving in 1982 and releasing their most successful album to date "The Completion Backwards Principle" which contained the hits "Don't want to wait anymore", "Sushi Girl" and "Talk to you later". In 1983 they followed this up with their most well known song "She's a beauty" which went Top 10 in the USA charts. The Tubes have continued to release music, the fame and notoriety of the late 70's and early 80's remain as the bands true legacy.
