Black Tot Day commemorates the last day Royal Navy sailors

were given their daily rum ration, nicknamed the ‘daily tot’.



Each day the famous cry of ‘Up spirits!’ rang out, calling

sailors to report to deck to receive their daily tot of rum -

a 70ml shot! The rum rations lasted over three centuries

before it was finally abolished on 31st July 1970, and alas

the popular maritime tradition was sadly no more.



So, between 28th-29th July we are planning a weekend here at Revolucion de Cuba Derby to pay homage to our drunken sailors and celebrate our 3 special cocktails in line with Pusser's Rum. Expect us to go out all out with decorations, competitions and other hidden Rum-filled surpises on the day!
