The Blockheads were formed 40 years ago - in October 1977 - to promote Ian Dury’s new album ‘New Boots and Panties' on the 'Live Stiff's' tour.



Chaz Jankel recalls “I remember being at the first gig and Elvis Costello turned to me and he said ‘How do I follow that?” and I said “You can’t”.”



They’ve been through numerous lineup changes but now, featuring Chaz Jankel, Norman Watt-Roy, John Turnbull and Mick Gallagher from the original lineup, they return to Oxford.
