About this Event

This session will explore the skills needed to be a successful, leading BME woman as well as looking at ways of dealing with sexism and misogynoir during your career. There will be a panel discussion followed by a Q&A where you will be able to hear from our inspiring female leaders:

- Hareem Ghani is the NUS Women's Officer, is currently leading a campaign focusing on the impact of violence and objectification towards female students, as well as fighting for better rights for student parents and better representation for women in students’ unions.

- Sam Budd is the CEO of Bristol SU; someone who has been central in pushing through values of representation, equality, diversity and collaboration throughout the Students’ Union.

- Abigail Iyaho is the Diversity and Inclusion Officer at The Frontline Organisation.

- Councillor Hibaq Jamais the Labour Party Ward Councillor representing the Lawrence Hill neighbourhood in Bristol. She was elected to office in May 2012, becoming the city's first Somali councillor.

With more panellists to be announced from top UK firms! This session is being co-hosted by Bright Network.
