About this Event

Saturday 3rd May | The Boileroom | £8 advance, £10 on the door, 18+

We are absolutely delighted to welcome The Safety Fire to The BOILEROOM this May.

Formed in London, The Safety Fire has always pushed the boundaries of technical, progressive metal since their inception. With their expansive atmospheres and soaring melodies, it’s easy to see why vocalist Sean McWeeney, bassist Lori Peri, drummer Calvin Smith, and guitarists Derya Nagle and Joaquin Ardiles are now at the forefront of their ever-growing genre.

We are also really happy to welcome Freeze the Atlantic back to Guildford. If there’s one word that could be used to describe Freeze the Atlantic, it’s surely ‘resilient’. Having seen a multitude of line-up changes that would have normally stopped a band in its tracks, it has only seemed to strengthen the bands resolve – both as a unit and musically. Looking forward with a new line-up, a stunning debut album with rave reviews, a pounding and impressive live show and new material on the way, this should be a great year for FTA.

Crown Me King are a 5 piece Tech/Djent Band from Surrey,UK. These guys started off playing a much more "Metalcore" sound and led on to releasing their first 5 Track Debut E.P Titled "A Bribe For The Ferryman" which was released in September 2013. The boys have swiftly blossomed into a much more heavier sound suiting the ever so growing Tech Metal sound of today. They have had the pleasure of sharing the stage with many great bands such as: Silent Screams, Shields, High Hopes & many more and are beginning to make a name for themselves in the local scene. "Crown Me King" are currently in the process of booking studio time, but for now if you go see them live you might get a sneak preview of a track or two.

Throatpunch City are a prog rock band out of Berkshire. Having just released their EP "Twinned With Your Face" they are impressing people with their live show. Howver you could take them on their own words: "Making cups of coffee, riffs bigger than houses, nerf guns, jangly prog rock, quoting Picnicface sketches for hours, making more cups of coffee, the 2D Sonic games, mutant time signatures, bothering Al Heslop, switching to tea because we drank all the coffee"
