About this Event

Sadie Jemmett www.sadiejemmett.com

Sadie Jemmett is a British singer-songwriter based in London whose extraordinary songs reflect a remarkable life.

Behind the entrancing, eloquence of her lyrics and the subtle acoustic beauty of her music lies a restlessly seeking spirit and a rich and colourful experience. Her peripatetic journey has followed a jagged course from a wildly bohemian childhood through being a teenage runaway, a backing singer in a reggae band and a touring actress to her role today as one of the most magical singer-songwriters on the music scene.

Born in a Cambridgeshire village to parents who were both actors, her childhood was chaotic, and unconventional.

Solace came in music when she took up the guitar at the age of 12 and her experiences has helped to shape her into a potent singer-songwriter who stands in the great lineage of the art from classic era Joni Mitchell and Neil Young yet as an artist who shines out as a profoundly unique and modern voice.

Sadie Jemmett’s debut album, The Blacksmith’s Girl, was released in 2011 and mixed and produced in Los Angeles by Grammy winner David Bianco (Bob Dylan, Johnny Cash), and mastered in London by Kevin Metcalfe (Queen/David Bowie/Robert Plant).

She has finished work on her second album of original material, These Days, which is scheduled for release in early summer 2014.

Danni Nicholls www.danninicholls.com

From a young age, Danni was soaking up American folk, country and rock n roll music from her Grandmother’s record collection in her small home town of Bedford, UK. When she inherited her Uncle Heathcliff’s 1962 Burns London Shortscale Jazz guitar (rumoured to have belonged to Billy Fury!) aged 16, all those influences came pouring back out in the form of her own original material and has been flowing ever since.
