Unsigned City w/ GUMP, Eleanor Nelly & Abbey Rose
About this Event
Introducing... Unsigned City
Every massive act on the world stage has come from humble beginnings (well, most of them) and we're sure that the next set of stars is waiting in the wings of this great musical city.
The Magnet has a penchant for spotting young talent. Interestingly, a young Freddie Mercury and Brian May were booked to play down in the basement of the venue in an early incarnation of one of the world's biggest bands, Queen. Paul McCartney and Stuart Sutcliffe (the 5th Beatle) we're also known to frequent the venue during times spent at school in what is now another champion of youth talent, LIPA. The stage has seen a host of performers from a sequence of generations, from renowned acts to the unsung heroes of the music world.
We see The Magnet as a musical institution, a place for the people. In that ilk we realise the importance of providing a stage to our future stars, inspiring the next set of maestro's on their quest to greatness. Unsigned City works with the city's best young acts, providing a means by which they can perform, promote and begin their musical career. From offering studio facilities, to live events to even legal services in the future - the sky is the limit.
• Our Acts •
GUMP
A five piece band from across Merseyside, formed two years ago initially as a trio of Sam, James and Harry; they later added Freddie and recently Ben to complete the band. Early in 2013, they won the Liverpool One 'Tickle the Ivories' competition and are a brilliant young band not too unfamiliar to the stage!
Eleanor Nelly
Eleanor is a 14yr old singer songwriter from Liverpool who recently supported the hummingbirds in the 02 academy. A true talent with a unique voice and huge future, she's definitely one to keep your eye on.
Abbey Rose
From St.Helens, this 15 year old is an aspiring vocalist and has been influenced by many artists including Taylor Swift, Paramore and Evanescence. She has an amazing, wide range of different styles and can sing a mixture of genres. She's constantly trying to push the limits of her voice to develop and become better. She's very passionate about music and just loves to perform!
