Frank Hamilton, #OneSongaWeek and 2013...
Decided to write, record and release one song a week for the whole of 2012.'All or Nothing' released.Almost quit.Wrote/recorded in Paul Heaton's (Beautiful South/Housemartins) pub while on tour. Heard from Gary Kemp (Spandau Ballet). Nice chap.
'Sing For England'. MSN's official Euro 2012 song (feat Dead Poets, A local Primary Schoool). Radio 5 coverage. Forgot own mothers birthday while at IOW Fest. Wrote a song about it.Ed Sheeran mention in Total Guitar Mag interview (totally unprompted).Collaborated with ex-footballer Dion Dublin (legend) and played Reading/Leeds festival.
Appeared on Match of the Day (childhood dream) and heard from Colin Murray. Nice chap. Jemima (8th Birthday present) died. Got tonsillitis.Birthday. Had a 'moderate/severe' allergic reaction to Penicillin.Collaboration with The Crimea (one of favourite bands).
(Silly political) collaboration with Poet/Teacher/Battle rapper, Mark Grist.Released 'Flaws & Ceilings', a duet with unsigned/internet sensation Lauren Aquilina. Released 'Wet Shoes', written with Ed Sheeran.Released 'Miles Apart' feat. Ryan Keen.

Newton Faulkner.- December 20th 2012: The first and last #onesongaweek live show (feat several of the years collaborators). Camden Barfly (sold out). - Week 52. Aptly titled, 'Week 52'. Frank Hamilton spent the whole of 2012 writing, recording and releasing one song a week.
Supporters/collaborators include Ed Sheeran, Newton Faulkner, The Crimea, Lauren Aquilina, Mark Grist, Ryan Keen, Lyracis, Dion Dublin and many more...
Most of the songs were recorded on a laptop in #OneSongaWeek HQ (Frank's living room) and released every Friday along with a frightfully honest blog.
The 'Best of #OneSongaWeek' album was rush-released on December 10th in response to iTunes choosing week 45's song (Flaws & Ceilings) as their free single of the week.
The album spent most of the week at #1 in iTunes singer/songwriter section (outselling Ed Sheeran, Jake Bugg, Gabrielle Aplin, Ben Howard etc) and reached #21 in the overall album chart, as well as #2 in Music Week's Indie Breakers album chart.
The project was 100% DIY, cost absolutely nothing (apart from the endless supply of tea-bags) and culminated in the first and last #OneSongaWeek live show at Camden Barfly (sold out) with some very special guests from the 52 weeks.
