Deadwood Dog are Preston's original bouzouki wielding folk-rockers. Their foot-stomping music tells stories of real-life, marrying up-tempo barnstormers, bittersweet ballads, and the odd well-chosen cover. Imagine a supergroup made up of the Levellers, IRS years REM and the ghost of Joe Strummer, all jamming in a Baltic bar, and they'd probably sound a lot like Deadwood Dog!
Impassioned but melodic vocals, guitars (of the electric and nylon string acoustic variety), Greek bouzouki, harmonica, bass guitar and pounding drums knock out stirring originals like the fist-waving 'Deadwood Rant', where folk and Americana meet good old fashioned rock 'n' roll. With a set that's been known to take in a ska version of '15 Years', a beautiful reworking of Kraftwerk's 'The Model', and even the odd riff cribbed from Boney M, Deadwood Dog are Preston's most amazingly diverse, ferociously exciting live act.
Hear them for yourself , and check out fantastic debut album 'United Colours Of Bigotry', at Bandcamp
