The staff were friendly and polite, the band was great as was the atmosphere, although I was on my own I was made to feel welcome by all. My room was clean and the bed was comfy, if I had one complaint, I have to say my room was a little on the cold side, but after quite a few pints of Guinness in the bar, I got into bed and soon warmed up, I have read a few reviews about the price of a pint but at £4.90 it's about average for a city centre pub. Have already recommended a night out here to my friends and will definitely be back again!

There was a group of 6 us including 2 children and we called in for a drink after a meal at San Carlos. The staff were very accommodating considering we had the kids with us. As we was leaving my girls wanted to buy some bags of crisps for a couple of homeless people outside and the gentleman behind the bar insisted on giving them to my daughters for free as they told him what they wanted them for. I was eagerly awaiting Saint Patrick’s day weekend last week and was intending of making mulligans my first stop. The £5 entry fee was fine as it allowed you entry all day. The biggest o read moreI was eagerly awaiting Saint Patrick’s day weekend last week and was intending of making mulligans my first stop. The £5 entry fee was fine as it allowed you entry all day. The atmosphere seemed lovely on entry and the music was good. The price of a pint was however hefty at £5 a pint. The biggest off putting thing was the door security. As much as it was going to be a busy day there was at least 5 bouncers on he door who were already in full bouncer mode at midday when there was only a normal crowd there. They stared you out and appeared intimidating early doors and this continued during the day, as if they were ready to pounce on anything untoward. This was very off putting and unnecessary I felt. It definitely affected the mood of the day from then on and we ended up spending the rest of the day elsewhere.
