A lady at the door was about to let us in when a male blonde staff came out, looked at the shoes, then looked at the attendee list. Only when he saw my name on the list, he started to point out the shoes of my friend. My friend was wearing a pair of dark trainers, and I understand that there was a dress code written in the Terms & Conditions. However, the staff was letting in other people with trainers. When we pointed out the fact that they were letting people with trainers in, the staff said that their trainers are fine “because they are unmarked”. He also said “you can just spend the time of the evening sightseeing in London instead or get a nicer pair of shoes” in a quite condescending manner. (Being a resident in London for years, I don’t need to do sightseeing in London!) I felt that the staff was mistreating us due to my race or some other reasons. When we pointed out that we were mistreated, he started saying that we are assured for “a full refund” repeatedly, which we are still struggling to receive. I understand that there was a dress code, and we would have been fine if we were treated fairly and like other customers. However, what we saw was a disgusting manner by one of the staff.
