Named after The Clash's Fourth album, rock n roll pulses through the vains of this lively cocktail bar, with artwork and music album covers adorning the walls and include Primal Scream, Bob Marley, Nirvana and The Artic Monkeys. The decor has flashes of Havana with a grand bar and mahogany cantina styled seating.

Sandinista serves food until 10pm every night and includes a delicious array of sharing tapas dishes and a big push on fresh local ingredients. This can all be washed down by a fabulous range of cocktails and global beers, the back bar is stocked to the hilt with unique spirits, rums and tequilas. Sandinista has a big personality and this kid likes to party, opening till 3am every night of the week. The party kicks off at the weekends with DJs playing an eclectic crate of rock, punk, soul, reggae and motown. They also boast a downstairs basement bar that is perfect for hiring for birthdays and parties.

Since the entrance the moronic bouncers were unpleasant and threatened me not to allow me in (i don't know why, maybe just because I was joking with my friends outside). The staff downstairs were simply slovenly and lazy, both in their look and their behaviour. They simply didn't care about the customers, they served drinks very slowly, fully "relaxed", no matter if they provoked a long... queue and the customers were waiting for ages. The prices were definitely high (£ 6.75 for a poor quality glass of wine???) and what is worse is the "brilliant" end of the night. Some british idiots at the party were making the usual stereotyped and discriminating sarcasms about my nationality "you're italian, mafia, camorra, you mafioso". Despite this distasteful way of joking I didn't get angry and I either joked replying "yeah, of course, I'm a dangerous italian mafia guy!". But anyway no one was feeling offenced nor were we arguing, in the end it was just a mutual joke quickly finished. While 10 minutes later, the moronic bartender downstairs, the one with a slovenly punk look, reported me to those pathetic bloody idiot bouncers, and they kicked me off saying that I had threatened people scaring everybody saying that I was a mafia guy. Sandinista staff, you're so ridiculous and racist that I can only laugh at you. Never more here, this sad place doesn't deserve my money.

Visited for first time. Will definitely be returning. Although a limited menu our food was great and good value for money. Staff were polite and efficient.
